The earth element is the one that we can touch, see, taste and feel. It is represented by red, the seventh color of the rainbow. In this blog post, we will introduce you to the E5 framework, which divides earth-based businesses into two categories: E5 A and E5 E.
E5 A stands for Earth-based Active businesses. These are businesses that produce tangible goods or services that help us manage the earth element. Some examples of E5 A businesses are:
Food and agriculture production: These businesses grow and harvest crops, raise animals, and process food products. Examples: Farmers, Monsanto, Nestle.
FMCG manufacturing: These businesses make fast-moving consumer goods, such as toiletries, cosmetics, household products, and packaged foods. Examples: Hindustan Unilever Ltd, ITC, P&G.
Real estate development: These businesses construct and sell residential and commercial properties. Examples: DLF, Lodha Group, Emaar.
E5 E stands for Earth-based Exchange businesses. These are businesses that facilitate the exchange of money, goods, or services between different parties. Some examples of E5 E businesses are:
Banking and financial services: These businesses provide loans, deposits, investments, insurance, and other financial products and services. Examples: HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Axis Bank.
Shares and mutual funds trading: These businesses allow investors to buy and sell stocks and funds in the stock market. Examples: Zerodha, Sharekhan, Motilal Oswal.
Brokerage services: These businesses act as intermediaries between buyers and sellers of real estate, stocks, or other assets. Examples: 99acres.com, Angel Broking, Edelweiss.
Audit and accounting: These businesses provide auditing, accounting, taxation, and consulting services to individuals and organizations. Examples: PwC, KPMG, Deloitte & Touche.
Event management: These businesses plan and execute events such as weddings, concerts, conferences, and exhibitions. Examples: Pico, Wizcraft, Cineyug.
Real estate - serviced office: These businesses offer flexible office space solutions to entrepreneurs and professionals. Examples: Regus, WeWork, Awfis.
Hotels & hospitality: These businesses provide accommodation, food, and entertainment services to travelers and guests. Examples: Marriott, Westin, Hyatt, Taj Group, Oberoi Group.
Please note that all the allied services that support the respective business categories will fall under the same business classification.
